Your first step into health innovation

Turn your idea into action.

Origin Australia equips emerging founders with the clarity, skills and confidence to begin their journey in health innovation.

Through practical workshops and immersive bootcamps, you will alidate your idea, develop its commercial potential, and prepare to pitch to industry experts.

One winner will receive a non-dilutive cash prize of AU$10,000 and return travel to compete at the Global Pitch Showdown in Japan in October 2026.

A two-phase journey

Phase 1: Pitch bootcamp

Build confidence, challenge assumptions, and learn to communicate your innovation. Over two in-person days, participants cover pitching, IP, regulation, customer validation, product strategy, and market analysis, alongside networking and founder insights.

Phase 2: Venture bootcamp

Take your venture further. Participants will refine their problem-solution fit, strengthen their commercial narrative, and develop their pathway to market, culminating in a Semi-Final where selected teams will progress to pitch at Origin Australia Demo Day.

Who should apply

Origin Australia is open to entrepreneurs and founders with a health technology idea or startup whose primary residence is in Victoria.

Whether you are a clinician addressing a need, a researcher with promising data, an engineer building a prototype, or an aspiring founder, this program offers a clear pathway into health entrepreneurship.
