Origin is a comprehensive venture builder program that has, over the last 10 years, nurtured the entrepreneurial capabilities of over 2,500 clinicians, researchers, engineers, scientists, students, and inventors. It has also supported the creation of almost 200 startups – including a unicorn – that have gone on to raise more than A$750m of capital.
At MedTech Actuator, we believe that startup founders are superheroes and all superheroes have a beginning. MedTech Actuator Origin offers emerging founders and entrepreneurs the opportunity to dive into the MedTech, BioTech and HealthTech startup ecosystem and learn how to transform from idea to early-stage startup.
The winner of MedTech Actuator Origin will receive a cash and in-kind prize pack worth over A$15,000, and fast-tracked entry into MedTech Actuator Accelerator.
Qualifying teams will join MedTech Actuator in Melbourne for the Pitch Bootcamp, where, over two days, they’ll learn from industry experts, pressure test their innovations, network with a cohort, gain exposure to the startup ecosystem and health innovation, and pitch for an opportunity to receive a prize pack sponsored by industry leaders.

Program Eligibility
Applicants to the Origin program must:
▶️ You must have a research project, idea, or innovation in human health.
▶️ Your project or idea should not be beyond the proof of concept stage.
▶️ Applicants should be able to attend all program activities, both in-person (Melbourne) and online.
